Latest Food Prices in West Sumatra: Red Chili Up, Buffalo Meat Down

Prices of several food items in West Sumatra today were observed to rise compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Thursday (September 18, 2025) at 15:07 WIB, out of 25 commodities, 15 commodities rose and 10 commodities fell.

Commodities with price increases include pure beef, packaged wheat flour, red cayenne pepper, dried soybean seeds (imported), and broiler chicken eggs.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as garlic bulb, mackerel, shallots, corn at farmer level, and packaged cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday''s prices.

The large red chili commodity surged the highest by Rp4,867 (7.57%) to Rp69,167 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of frozen buffalo meat (imported from abroad) dropped the deepest by Rp135,000 (100.0%) to Rp0 per kg.
