Government to Immediately Disburse Rp34.4 Trillion for PNS THR and 13th Month Salary

Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati announced that the government has allocated Rp34.3 trillion (approximately US$2.3 billion based on April 2022 exchange rate) for the 2022 Eid al-Fitr bonuses (THR) and the 13th-month salary for State Civil Apparatus (ASN), including Civil Servants (PNS), and pensioners.

The THR allocation comprises Rp10.3 trillion from the Ministry/Agency (K/L) budget for central government ASN, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and the Indonesian National Police (Polri). A further Rp15 trillion comes from the General Allocation Fund (DAU) for regional ASN, including regional PNS and Government Employees with Work Contracts (PPPK), and Rp9 trillion from the State Treasury for pensioners.

“This policy is expected to also drive acceleration of the national economy by increasing public purchasing power,” said Sri Mulyani in an online press statement on THR and the 13th-month salary on Saturday, April 16th, as reported by Kemenku.go.id.

The THR and 13th-month salary will be equivalent to the basic salary/pension and allowances attached to the basic salary/pension, plus 50% of the monthly performance allowance for those receiving it. For regional government institutions, it is a maximum of 50% of additional income, considering the region's fiscal capacity and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

The total number of ASN, PNS, and pensioners receiving the THR and 13th-month salary this year is as follows:

- 1.8 million central government ASN employees
- 3.7 million regional government ASN employees
- 3.3 million pensioners

The disbursement of THR is planned to begin 10 days before Idul Fitri 2022. However, if the THR cannot be paid within that period due to technical issues, it can still be paid after Idul Fitri.

The 13th-month salary will be paid in July 2022 to cover the education expenses of the children of ASN, TNI, and Polri personnel.
