Indonesia's Investment Realization Reaches Rp 216.7 Trillion in Q3 2021

The Indonesian Investment Ministry/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) recorded that Indonesia's investment realization reached Rp 216.7 trillion in the third quarter of 2021, a 3.7% increase from the same period the previous year. However, this figure decreased by 2.8% compared to the previous quarter.

Domestic investment realization reached Rp 113.5 trillion in Q3 2021. Meanwhile, foreign investment realization amounted to Rp 103.2 trillion from July to September 2021.

Housing, industrial estates, and office buildings were the sectors with the largest investment realization in Q3 2021, attracting Rp 28.1 trillion in capital.

This achievement was followed by the transportation, warehousing, and telecommunications sector, which generated Rp 26.6 trillion. Investment realization from the basic metal industry, metal goods, non-machinery, and equipment sector amounted to Rp 25.1 trillion.

By region, West Java still absorbed the largest investment, reaching Rp 34.8 trillion in the third quarter of this year. DKI Jakarta and East Java followed with investment realizations of Rp 23.9 trillion and Rp 18 trillion, respectively.

On the other hand, job absorption in Indonesia decreased by 2.2% compared to the same period last year. A total of 288,687 people worked in various investment projects in Q3 2021.
