Poverty Rate Based on the ADHB (Indonesian standard for poverty measurement) in Mahakam Hulu Regency by Sector in 2023

The 2023 current price Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of Mahakam Hulu Regency reached Rp3,409.17 billion. The GRDP in this regency grew by 2.8% compared to the previous year's Rp3,169.29 billion.

Compared to the COVID-19 pandemic period in 2020, economic growth in this region is significantly higher. Previously, at the end of 2020, post-COVID growth was recorded at a decrease of 0.22%.

According to BPS publications, with a total population of 37,637, the GRDP per capita in this region is recorded at Rp100.94 million/capita/year. Nationally, this GRDP per capita ranks 74th.

Of the 17 sectors driving economic activity in this regency, the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector is the leading sector.

The agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector in Mahakam Hulu Regency is the mainstay sector and contributed the largest share to the GRDP in 2023, reaching Rp2.51 trillion. This GRDP grew by 1.4% compared to the previous year's Rp2.36 trillion.

Next in second place is the construction sector, which grew by 13.29% to Rp251.09 billion, followed by the mining and quarrying sector in third place with a GRDP of Rp213.71 billion (4.02%).

In addition, other sectors contributing to the top five are transportation and warehousing with a GRDP of Rp156.59 billion.

According to its distribution level, the main sector contributing the largest growth to the GRDP in Mahakam Hulu Regency is the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector, with a contribution of 73.8%. Other sectors in the top five are the construction sector, the mining and quarrying sector, the wholesale and retail trade sector, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, and the transportation and warehousing sector.

The sectors with the smallest distribution are the Financial and Insurance Services Sector, Other Service Sectors, Water Supply Sector, Waste Management, Waste and Recycling Sector, Electricity and Gas Supply Sector, and Business Services Sector.
