Current Food Prices in East Java: Rice, Egg, and Sugar Prices Increase

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are observed to be higher than yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Saturday (7/12/2024) at 08.40 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 14 commodities increased in price and 7 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include packaged simple cooking oil, tongkol fish, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), granulated sugar, and red chilies.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as pure beef, kembung fish, farmer-level corn, broiler chicken, and medium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Iodized fine salt experienced the highest price increase, jumping Rp840 (8.89%) to Rp10,290 per kg. Kembung fish saw the sharpest price drop, falling Rp2,070 (6.34%) to Rp30,580 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 21 food commodities in East Java according to Bapanas on December 7, 2024, at 08.40 WIB.

8. Red Chili Peppers: Rp28,040 per kg (up 5.33%)
9. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp25,690 per kg (up 0.9%)
10. Red Keriting Chili: Rp19,060 per kg (up 4.15%)
11. Bulk Cooking Oil: Rp17,400 per liter (up 2.53%)
