Today's Food Prices in West Sumatra: Chicken Prices Up, Rice Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Thursday (17/10/2024) at 09.01 WIB, out of 18 commodities, 9 commodities increased and 9 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include broiler chicken, pure beef, garlic bulbs, SPHP rice, and shallots.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as bulk cooking oil, medium rice, simple packaged cooking oil, fine iodized salt, and granulated sugar decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of mackerel fish increased the most, by Rp12,780 (27.39%) to Rp59,440 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of dry soybean seeds (import) decreased the most, by Rp1,050 (9.35%) to Rp10,180 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 18 food commodities in West Sumatra according to Bapanas on October 17, 2024, at 09.01 WIB.

2. Mackerel Fish: Rp59,440 per kg (up 27.39%)
3. Broiler Chicken: Rp40,000 per kg (up 15.07%)
4. Skipjack Tuna: Rp39,560 per kg (up 7.79%)
5. Garlic Bulbs: Rp39,490 per kg (up 1.96%)
6. Curly Red Chili: Rp33,600 per kg (up 9.45%)
7. Shallots: Rp29,490 per kg (up 0.03%)
8. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp28,420 per kg (down 0.28%)
9. Granulated Sugar: Rp17,870 per kg (down 0.5%)
10. Premium Rice: Rp17,750 per kg (up 1.31%)
11. Simple Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp17,480 per liter (down 1.85%)
