Food Prices Today, January 6, in DKI Jakarta: Rice Up, Cayenne Pepper Down

Prices of several food commodities in DKI Jakarta today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

According to data from the Ministry of Trade's Basic Necessities Market Monitoring System (SP2KP Kemendag) on Tuesday (Jan 6, 2026) at 14:44 WIB, out of 16 commodities, 6 increased and 7 decreased.

Commodities with increased prices include beef hind leg, premium rice, Minyakita cooking oil, Honan garlic, and premium packaged palm cooking oil.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as large red chili, shallots, broiler eggs, bulk palm cooking oil, and bulk granulated sugar decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Wheat flour saw the highest increase of Rp100 (0.85%) to Rp11,800 per kg. Red cayenne pepper prices experienced the deepest drop of Rp3,000 (4.3%) to Rp66,750 per kg.

2. Red Cayenne Pepper: Rp66,750 per kg (down 4.3%)

5. Shallots: Rp47,750 per kg (down 0.52%)
6. Broiler Chicken Meat: Rp41,017 per kg (stable)
7. Honan Garlic: Rp40,750 per kg (up 0.49%)
8. Broiler Eggs: Rp31,100 per kg (down 0.32%)
9. Premium Packaged Palm Cooking Oil: Rp22,550 per liter (up 0.45%)
10. Bulk Palm Cooking Oil: Rp19,467 per liter (down 0.08%)
11. Bulk Granulated Sugar: Rp18,225 per kg (down 0.27%)
