Current Food Prices in Central Java: Chili Prices Up, Onion Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in Central Java today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Tuesday (25/3/2025) at 12:56 WIB, out of 25 commodities, 18 commodities increased in price and 6 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include red chilies, garlic bulbs, pure beef, fresh buffalo meat (local), and Minyakita cooking oil.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as granulated sugar, SPHP rice, premium rice, farmer-level corn, and shallots decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of curly red chilies increased the most, by Rp1,134 (2.34%) to Rp49,602 per kg. Meanwhile, shallots saw the largest price decrease, dropping by Rp614 (1.29%) to Rp47,063 per kg.
