Today's West Sumatra Food Prices: Chili Prices Up, Cooking Oil Prices Down

Prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Saturday (3/8/2024) at 16.13 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 11 commodities increased and 9 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include granulated sugar, garlic bulbs, premium rice, chicken eggs, and red chilies.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as iodized fine salt, medium-grain rice, bulk wheat flour, skipjack tuna, and simple packaged cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chilies experienced the highest price increase of Rp1,150 (2.95%) to Rp40,120 per kg. Simple packaged cooking oil saw the sharpest price decrease of Rp350 (1.98%) to Rp17,350 per liter.
