Latest Food Prices in East Java: Egg and Salt Prices Rise

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are monitored to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the food price panel data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) on Thursday (22/8/2024) at 08.01 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 11 commodities increased and 10 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include premium rice, bulk cooking oil, chicken eggs, broiler chicken, and packaged wheat flour (non-bulk).

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as milkfish, simple packaged cooking oil, granulated sugar, pure beef, and farmer-level corn decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Iodized fine salt experienced the highest price increase, jumping Rp760 (8.3%) to Rp9,920 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of curly red chilies decreased the most, dropping Rp4,330 (13.02%) to Rp28,920 per kg.

5. Milkfish: Rp30,630 per kg (down 5.61%)
6. Skipjack Tuna: Rp30,440 per kg (up 1.4%)
7. Mackerel: Rp29,920 per kg (down 10.12%)
8. Curly Red Chilies: Rp28,920 per kg (down 13.02%)
9. Chicken Eggs: Rp25,700 per kg (up 1.46%)
10. Red Onions: Rp18,290 per kg (down 6.49%)
11. Simple Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp16,550 per liter (down 1.31%)
