Latest Food Prices in East Java: Salt Prices Up, Chili Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on food price panel data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) on Sunday (11/8/2024) at 09.17 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 14 commodities increased and 7 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include skipjack tuna, bulk wheat flour, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), medium-grain rice, and broiler chicken.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as bulk cooking oil, chicken eggs, milkfish, curly red chilies, and pure beef decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Iodized fine salt experienced the highest price increase, up by Rp1,190 (12.96%) to Rp10,370 per kg. The price of corn at the farmer level saw the sharpest decrease, down by Rp730 (14.04%) to Rp4,470 per kg.
