The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reports that the economy of Bali is gradually recovering. This is evident from the 2.83% growth in Bali's regional gross domestic product (PDRB) in the second quarter of 2021.
Previously, Bali's economic growth had contracted for five consecutive months. In the first quarter of 2020, growth was minus 1.2% year-on-year, then minus 11.06% in the second quarter of 2020, and minus 12.32% in the third quarter of 2020.
BPS Bali states that of the 17 business sectors that make up the regional gross domestic product (PDRB), 14 recorded positive growth. Meanwhile, only three business sectors experienced negative growth.
Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, only two components experienced negative growth. These components are imports of goods and services, which decreased by 76.63%, and gross fixed capital formation (PMTB), which decreased by 2.9%.
