The Jakarta Provincial Government recorded 1,038 new arrivals in Jakarta after the 2024 Eid al-Fitr homecoming period.

“They [new arrivals] were counted after Eid, specifically from April 16th to April 22nd, 2024,” said Budi Awaludin, Head of the Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Office (Disdukcapil), as reported by *Antara* on Tuesday (4/22/2024).

According to their origin, most of the new arrivals came from Bekasi City, totaling 80 people.

This was followed by arrivals from Tangerang and Depok (42 people), Bogor (35 people), and Bekasi (28 people). The rest are included in the graph.

Based on their education, the majority, or 78.53%, of new arrivals are Senior High School (SLTA) graduates. The remaining 21.47% have higher education than SLTA.

Previously, the Jakarta Disdukcapil predicted that the number of new arrivals to the region after Eid would decrease compared to previous years.

“So, we predict that this year, for the return flow, it will be around 10,000 to 15,000 [new arrivals in Jakarta]. Last year [2023], it was in the range of 20,000 to 25,000,” said Budi last Wednesday (4/17/2024).

Budi stated that one of the reasons for the decrease in the number of new arrivals to Jakarta is the national development, which is now considered to be more evenly distributed.
