The Indonesian Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) report shows that the performance of the State Budget (APBN) until December 14, 2022, experienced a deficit of Rp237.7 trillion, a 61.5% decrease year-on-year (yoy).

This year-end APBN deficit is equivalent to 1.22% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

"This deficit is much smaller than indicated or planned as stated in Presidential Regulation 98/2022," said Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati in a press conference on the APBN KITA, Tuesday (December 20). The deficit stated in the Presidential Regulation was Rp840.2 trillion.

Despite the deficit, Sri Mulyani stated that the primary balance in the APBN this year still recorded a surplus of Rp129 trillion. In line with this condition, budget financing decreased by 28.5% year-on-year (yoy) to Rp469.8 trillion, lower than Rp656.8 trillion until December 14, 2022.

“With this deficit situation and the drastic decrease in financing also due to the very drastic decrease in the deficit, which shows that our APBN is becoming healthier again,” she explained.

Following this condition, Indonesia still has a budget financing surplus (SILPA) of Rp232.2 trillion until December 14, 2022. This figure is higher than the SILPA in the same period in 2021, which was Rp39.4 trillion.

In terms of state revenue, until the end of December 14, 2022, it was recorded at Rp2,479.9 trillion, exceeding the 2022 APBN target in Presidential Regulation 98/2022 of Rp2,266.2 trillion. Meanwhile, state expenditure was recorded at Rp2,717.6 trillion, or 87.5% of the APBN.
