Residents of South Minahasa Regency spend Rp16,200 per capita per week on glutinous rice.

The average expenditure of residents in South Minahasa Regency for purchasing glutinous rice in 2023 was Rp16.2 per capita per week. This figure is lower than the previous year's expenditure, which was recorded at Rp26.79 per capita per week.

Average per capita expenditure is the cost incurred for the consumption of all household members over a month, including purchases, gifts, and self-produced goods, divided by the number of household members. Household consumption is categorized into food and non-food consumption, regardless of the origin of goods, and is limited to household needs only, excluding consumption/expenditure for business purposes or given to other parties.

Expenditure on food consumption is calculated weekly, while non-food consumption is calculated monthly and for the past 12 months. Both food and non-food consumption are then converted into average monthly expenditure. The average per capita consumption/expenditure figures presented in BPS publications are obtained by dividing the total consumption of all households (both consuming food and not) by the total population.

The five largest expenditures of residents for the cereal group in South Minahasa Regency, from highest to lowest, are spent on superior quality rice (Rp22,420 per capita per week), wheat flour (Rp682.87 per capita per week), shelled corn/corn rice/corn grits (Rp113.93 per capita per week), corn in the husk (Rp99.18 per capita per week), and the lowest on other cereals (Rp3.18 per capita per week).

According to a publication by the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), the average per capita expenditure in this regency reached Rp1.31 million per capita per month in March 2023. This figure increased by 25.14% compared to March 2022, which was Rp1.05 million per capita per month.

Based on region, the highest expenditure for purchasing glutinous rice is in Puncak Jaya Regency and the lowest is in Sampang Regency.
