Food Prices in East Java Friday (Aug 22): Salt Prices Rise, Red Chili Prices Fall

Prices of several food commodities in East Java today were observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data as of Friday (August 22, 2025) at 10:35 AM WIB, out of 23 commodities, 14 commodities increased and 9 commodities decreased.

Commodities with increased prices include mackerel, packaged cooking oil, consumption sugar, dried soybean (imported), and broiler chicken meat.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as medium rice, shallots, bulk wheat flour, bulk cooking oil, and curly red chili decreased compared to yesterday''s prices.

Milkfish prices surged the highest by Rp1,098 (3.43%) to Rp33,111 per kg. Meanwhile, large red chili prices dropped the sharpest by Rp1,870 (6.01%) to Rp29,223 per kg.

5. Milkfish: Rp33,111 per kg (up 3.43%)
6. Skipjack Tuna: Rp31,342 per kg (up 0.14%)
7. Garlic Bulb: Rp30,209 per kg (up 0.07%)
8. Large Red Chili: Rp29,223 per kg (down 6.01%)
9. Curly Red Chili: Rp28,148 per kg (down 5.43%)
10. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp26,500 per kg (down 0.33%)
11. Red Cayenne Pepper: Rp26,295 per kg (down 1.81%)
12. Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp20,047 per liter (up 1.74%)
