Social Assistance Fund Realization Reaches Rp 66.43 Trillion by the First Half of 2021

The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) reported that the realization of the social protection program budget reached Rp 66.43 trillion in the first half of 2021. This amount is equivalent to 43.2% of the total budget allocation for this year. However, the nominal amount is lower than the same period last year, which was Rp 70.72 trillion.

Tens of millions of people had received social protection programs by June 30, 2021. Internet quota assistance was the program that reached the widest segment of the population. This is because 27.67 million students and educators received this benefit.

A total of 15.93 million beneficiary families (KPM) received food staple cards. 10 million KPM received cash social assistance (BST). 9.9 million KPM also received assistance from the Family Hope Program (PKH).

In addition, the government has disbursed direct cash assistance (BLT) to villages for five million KPM. Meanwhile, 2.82 million people received the Kartu Prakerja (Pre-employment Card).

Overall, the realization of the program to handle the Covid-19 virus and national economic recovery (PEN) reached Rp 252.3 trillion in the first half of 2021. This figure is equivalent to 36.1% of the budgeted Rp 699.43 trillion.
