Current Food Prices in West Sumatra: Chili Prices Up, Onion Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Thursday (22/8/2024) at 13:33 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 14 commodities increased and 5 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include granulated sugar, milkfish, premium rice, SPHP rice, and chicken eggs.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as simple packaged cooking oil, dry soybean (import), packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), garlic cloves, and skipjack tuna decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili prices surged the highest, increasing by Rp11,760 (22.76%) to Rp63,440 per kg. The price of packaged wheat flour (non-bulk) decreased the most, dropping by Rp230 (1.69%) to Rp13,390 per kg.
