Quoting data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), West Java's economic value based on the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at Constant Prices (ADHK) in 2022 reached Rp1,589 trillion, or almost Rp1.6 quadrillion.
GRDP is the sum of the added value of goods and services produced by all business units in a specific region.
The constant price GRDP shows the added value of products based on the 2010 price benchmark as its calculation basis. This constant price GRDP is used to determine economic growth from year to year.
Using this calculation method, in 2022 the West Java Provincial economy grew by 5.45% compared to the previous year. This is the highest growth rate since 2019, as shown in the graph above.
Based on the business sector, the sector that contributed the most to West Java's economy in 2022 was the manufacturing industry. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the main support is household consumption.
