New PEN Budget Realization Reaches 66.6% by Mid-November 2021

The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) recorded that the realization of the budget for handling Covid-19 and the national economic recovery (PEN) reached Rp 495.77 trillion as of November 19, 2021. This figure represents only 66.6% of the total budget of Rp 744.77 trillion.

Of this amount, the largest realization was for social protection, reaching Rp 140.50 trillion. This is equivalent to 75.5% of the allocated budget of Rp 186.64 trillion.

The next largest realization was for health programs, amounting to Rp 135.53 trillion. This figure is equivalent to 63% of the allocated budget of Rp 214.96 trillion.

Furthermore, the budget realization for UMKM and corporate support programs reached Rp 81.83 trillion. This is equivalent to 50.4% of the allocated budget of Rp 162.40 trillion.

Next, the budget realization for priority programs was recorded at Rp 75.44 trillion, or 64% of the allocated budget of Rp 117.94 trillion. Meanwhile, the budget realization for business incentives amounted to Rp 62.47 trillion, or 99.4% of the allocated budget of Rp 62.83 trillion.

Although only one month remains in 2021, the Director General of Budget at Kemenkeu, Isa Rachmatarwata, is optimistic that PEN program spending can reach approximately 91-95% by the end of the year. This spending will continue to cover hospital claims and vaccinations in November and December.
