Based on a survey by the Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI), the majority of Indonesians perceive the Indonesian economy as still poor amidst the recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic. This recovery is evident, among other things, in Indonesia's economic growth of 5.31% throughout 2022.

According to LSI Executive Director Djayadi Hanan, the public perception of the Indonesian economy trended negatively in February 2023. A total of 37.3% of respondents rated the country's economic condition as still poor. The details are 27.7% rating it as poor, while 9.6% rated it as very poor.

Nevertheless, the trend shows that the proportion of respondents who rated the national economic condition as poor has decreased in LSI surveys from late September 2022 to January 2023. However, the percentage increased again in the latest LSI survey.

Meanwhile, 37.1% of respondents assessed the economy as moderate.

On the other hand, 24.6% of respondents assessed the current national economic condition as good. The details are 22.9% rating it as good, while 1.7% rated it as very good.

The remaining 0.9% of respondents said they did not know or did not answer the survey questions.

The survey was conducted on 1,228 respondents using telephone interviews from February 1-17, 2023. The sample was randomly determined using the random digit dialing (RDD) method, with validation and screening.

The margin of error for this survey is estimated to be approximately 2.9% with a 95% confidence level.
