West Java Food Prices Friday (May 17th): Salt and Onion Prices Drop

The prices of several food commodities in West Java today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Friday (17/5/2024) at 17.47 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 9 commodities increased and 11 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), granulated sugar, milkfish, shallots, and red chilies.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as premium rice, farmer-level corn, medium rice, mackerel, and dry soybean (import) decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chilies saw the highest price increase of Rp1,390 (4.14%) to Rp34,990 per kg. Meanwhile, iodized fine salt had the lowest price decrease of Rp570 (5.42%) to Rp9,950 per kg.
