The realization of K/L expenditure increased by 31.5% yoy to Rp28.7 trillion. This expenditure was used for accelerating the disbursement of Operational School Assistance (BOS), procurement of equipment/machinery, buildings/structures, infrastructure/logistics, maintenance of roads/networks/irrigation/state-owned assets (BMN), social assistance disbursement, and K/L operational activities.

Meanwhile, non-K/L expenditure increased by 8.1% yoy to Rp54.5 trillion, making it the largest state expenditure last month. This expenditure was mainly for pension benefit payments and non-energy subsidy disbursement.

Furthermore, transfers to regions (TKD) were recorded at Rp58.2 trillion, an increase of 5.9% year-on-year.

In terms of state revenue, it was recorded at Rp232.2 trillion in January 2023. This figure increased by 48.1% yoy from Rp156.7 trillion in January 2022.

The larger realization of state revenue compared to state expenditure resulted in a surplus of Rp90.8 trillion in Indonesia's state budget (APBN) in January 2023. This figure is equivalent to 0.43% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
