Latest Food Prices in East Java: Onions Up, Chilies Down (Saturday, December 30, 2023)

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are monitored to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on food price panel data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) on Saturday (30/12/2023) at 12:32 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 10 commodities increased and 10 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include medium-grain rice, shallots, bulk wheat flour, simple packaged cooking oil, and red onions.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as mackerel, farmer-level corn, red chilies, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), and chicken eggs decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red onions saw the highest price increase, jumping Rp1,230 (3.95%) to Rp32,340 per kg. Meanwhile, red chili peppers experienced the lowest price decrease, dropping Rp1,240 (1.76%) to Rp69,230 per kg.
