Cilacap Regency's 2023 current price Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) reached Rp132.43 trillion. This represents a 5.34% increase compared to the previous year's Rp121.02 trillion.
Compared to the COVID-19 pandemic year of 2020, the region's economic growth is significantly higher. At the end of 2020, post-COVID, growth recorded a 10.28% decline.
According to BPS (Statistics Indonesia) publications, with a total population of 2.02 million, the GRDP per capita in the region is recorded at Rp65,950,000 per capita per year. Nationally, this ranks 138th.
Of the 17 sectors driving the regency's economy, the manufacturing industry is the leading sector.
In first place is the manufacturing industry. In 2023, this sector contributed the largest GRDP, reaching Rp76.25 trillion, with a growth of 5.54%.
Second is the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector, growing by 2.55% to Rp12.22 trillion. Third is the construction sector, which grew by 6.09% to Rp9.43 trillion.
The final sector in the top five is transportation and warehousing, with a GRDP of Rp6.13 trillion. This sector grew by 6.17% compared to the previous year's Rp5.35 trillion.

In terms of distribution, the manufacturing sector contributed the largest share to GRDP growth in Cilacap Regency, accounting for 63.99%. Other sectors in the top five include agriculture, forestry, and fisheries; wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles; construction; and transportation and warehousing.
The sectors with the smallest distribution are other services; health and social services; corporate services; electricity and gas supply; and water supply, waste management, waste disposal, and recycling.
