Rupiah Exchange Rate Closes at Rp 14,554 per US dollar (Wednesday, July 21)

The Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) exchanged at Rp 14,554 per US dollar, up 0.21 percent compared to yesterday. The current condition is almost unchanged compared to nine days ago. After reaching its lowest point on Monday, May 10, 2021, the Rupiah's exchange rate against the US dollar is currently at its strongest point in the last week. However, today, the Rupiah weakened by Rp 30 against the US dollar compared to yesterday.

Over the past week, the Rupiah's exchange rate against the US dollar fluctuated within a range of Rp 68 per US$. The highest transaction was at Rp 14,554 per US$, and the lowest at Rp 14,486 per US$.

Over the past month, the Rupiah's exchange rate against the US dollar traded within a wider price range of Rp 342 per US$, with the lowest value being Rp 14,222 per US$.

Meanwhile, against other major currencies monitored by Bank Indonesia, the Rupiah's depreciation over the past week was highest against the Japanese Yen, followed by the British Pound, Swiss Franc, Kuwaiti Dinar, and the US dollar.

Over the past month, the Rupiah's performance was most negatively impacted against the Vietnamese Dong, followed by the Kuwaiti Dinar, Japanese Yen, Papua New Guinean Kina, and the Saudi Riyal.
