The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Prevents Potential State Losses of Rp 22 Trillion in the First Half of 2021

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) claims to have successfully prevented potential state losses of Rp 22.27 trillion in the first half of 2021. This figure is up 114.4% year-on-year (yoy) compared to Rp 10.4 trillion in the same period last year.

These state funds saved comprise the recovery and rectification of regional government land certificates totaling Rp 9.5 trillion. Furthermore, Rp 7.1 trillion was saved in the protection of infrastructure, facilities, and utilities or social and public facilities.

Additionally, potential state losses were prevented through the collection of regional tax receivables amounting to Rp 3.8 trillion. Meanwhile, the recovery and rectification of problematic assets prevented potential state losses of Rp 1.7 trillion.

KPK Deputy Chairman Alexander Marwata stated that his institution is encouraging the optimization of regional revenue related to the saving of finances and assets. These efforts are carried out through cooperation with regional governments.

Furthermore, the KPK will involve the National Land Agency (BPN) in resolving problematic assets. The KPK will also cooperate with the Attorney General's Office to collect regional tax receivables.
