East Java Food Prices Wednesday (1/1): Egg, Rice, and Chili Prices Increase

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at 3:32 PM WIB, out of 21 commodities, 18 commodities increased in price and 3 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include pure beef, dry soybean (import), garlic bulb, red chili peppers, and simple packaged cooking oil.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as medium rice, farmer-level corn, and skipjack tuna decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili peppers saw the highest price increase, jumping Rp8,560 (14.56%) to Rp67,350 per kg. Farmer-level corn experienced the sharpest price drop, falling Rp650 (11.82%) to Rp4,850 per kg.
