Singapore Tops Foreign Investment in Indonesia in Q3 2021

The Indonesian Investment Ministry/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) recorded US$2.6 billion in investment from Singapore to Indonesia in Q3 2021. This capital was channeled through 5,145 domestic projects.

Singapore's investment value represents 36.2% of the total realization of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Indonesia during the last quarter. This figure is the highest compared to other countries.

Hong Kong ranked second with US$852.9 million in realized investment through 1,036 projects in Q3 2021. Following this was Japan with US$715 million in realized investment through 3,261 projects.

Investment from China amounted to US$595.6 million through 1,250 projects. Meanwhile, investment from the United States was Rp 509.9 million through 597 projects.

Total realized FDI in Indonesia amounted to Rp 103.2 trillion in Q3 2021. This figure reached 70.6% of the annual target of Rp 496.8 trillion.

However, Indonesia's FDI value decreased by 11.6% from the previous quarter, which was Rp 116.8 trillion. A decrease of 2.7% was also observed compared to the preceding period, which was Rp 106.1 trillion.
