Netflix Series Causes Sharp Drop in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Popularity

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's popularity has plummeted in Britain ahead of the release of their sensational Netflix documentary. Generally, the popularity of prominent members of the British Royal Family has been declining since November.

According to the latest YouGov poll conducted on December 7-8, 2022, a few weeks before the launch of the Netflix series *Harry & Meghan*, public opinion of Prince Harry has dropped. Only a third of Britons (33%) now hold a positive opinion of him, while 59% have a negative opinion.

Meanwhile, his wife, Meghan Markle, has become increasingly unpopular with the British public. Her popularity has fallen seven points in the same period, with 70 percent of respondents saying they have a very negative opinion of the Duchess of Sussex.

The YouGov survey results from early December generally show the popularity of Royal Family members declining compared to November. Nevertheless, Britons still favor Prince William and Princess Catherine.

Last week, Netflix announced that *Harry & Meghan* is their most-watched documentary. In its first week, the series entered the top 10 most-watched in the United States and ranked No. 1 in the UK.

More than 28 million households worldwide watched the first three episodes, with 2.4 million of those viewers in the UK.
