State Revenue Grew 9.4 Percent in the First Half of 2021

State revenue realization reached Rp 886.9 trillion in the first half of 2021. This achievement is up 9.4% from the same period in the previous year, which recorded a realization of Rp 810.7 trillion.

Furthermore, state revenue realization has reached 50.9% of the 2021 State Budget (APBN) target of Rp 1,743.6 trillion. The Ministry of Finance stated that the highest growth came from customs and excise revenue. The realization of this revenue amounted to Rp 122.2 trillion, up 31.1% from the same period in the previous year, which amounted to Rp 93.2 trillion.

The second highest growth came from non-tax state revenue (PNBP). PNBP realization amounted to Rp 206.9 trillion, up 11.4% from Rp 185.7 trillion in the first half of 2020.

Finally, tax revenue realization amounted to Rp 557.8 trillion. This tax revenue achievement increased by 4.9% from the first half of 2020, which amounted to Rp 531.8 trillion.

However, state expenditure also increased by 9.4% to Rp 1,170.1 trillion. As a result, Indonesia recorded a state budget deficit of Rp 283.2 trillion, equivalent to 1.72% of Indonesia's Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

Furthermore, the state budget deficit in the first half of 2021 was higher than in the first half of 2020, which amounted to Rp 257.2 trillion or 1.67% of Indonesia's GDP.
