Sumatera Selatan Food Price Update: Chili and Sugar Prices Drop (Monday, January 15, 2024)

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Monday (15/1/2024) at 19.22 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 4 commodities increased and 10 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price are bulk cooking oil, garlic bulbs, red chilies, and broiler chicken.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as chicken eggs, Indian mackerel, pure beef, skipjack tuna, and dry soybean (import) decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Garlic bulbs saw the highest price increase of Rp470 (1.27%) to Rp37,460 per kg. Meanwhile, red chili peppers saw the lowest price decrease of Rp1,490 (2.98%) to Rp48,460 per kg.

6. Indian Mackerel: Rp34,450 per kg (down 1.12%)
7. Broiler Chicken: Rp31,720 per kg (up 0.06%)
8. Milkfish: Rp27,530 per kg (down 1.71%)
9. Skipjack Tuna: Rp27,230 per kg (down 2.23%)
