According to the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), Indonesia's nominal Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the first quarter of 2024 reached Rp5,288.3 trillion.
Approximately 84% of this came from 10 business sectors.
The largest contributing sector was the manufacturing industry, at Rp1,019.6 trillion, equivalent to 19.28% of the national nominal GDP.
Following this were the wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sector; and the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector.
Here is a complete list of the 10 business sectors contributing the most to Indonesia's GDP in the first quarter of 2024:
1. Manufacturing Industry: Rp1,019.6 trillion (contributing 19.28% to the total national nominal GDP)
2. Wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles: Rp695.4 trillion (13.15%)
3. Agriculture, forestry, and fisheries: Rp613.8 trillion (11.61%)
4. Construction: Rp541.2 trillion (10.23%)
5. Mining and quarrying: Rp493.9 trillion (9.34%)
6. Transportation and warehousing: Rp313.4 trillion (5.93%)
7. Information and communication: Rp232.9 trillion (4.40%)
8. Financial and insurance services: Rp227.8 trillion (4.31%)
9. Government administration, defense, and compulsory social security: Rp177.7 trillion (3.36%)
10. Education services: Rp147.2 trillion (2.78%)
In addition to those mentioned above, there are 7 other business sectors that contributed to the national economy.
However, these 7 sectors only contributed approximately 11% of the total nominal GDP in the first quarter of 2024. The details are as follows:
1. Accommodation and food service activities: Rp138.5 trillion (contributing 2.62% to the total national nominal GDP)
2. Real estate: Rp128.5 trillion (2.43%)
3. Other services: Rp108.2 trillion (2.05%)
4. Corporate services: Rp102 trillion (1.93%)
5. Health and social work activities: Rp64.7 trillion (1.22%)
6. Electricity and gas supply: Rp55.3 trillion (1.05%)
7. Water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities: Rp3.5 trillion (0.07%)
