Tanjung Selor recorded the highest inflation rate in November 2022. The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that inflation in the North Kalimantan provincial capital reached 9.2% in November 2022 compared to November 2021 (year on year/yoy).
The next highest inflation was in Kota Baru, at 8.69% (yoy) in November 2022. This was followed by Jember Regency at 7.76% (yoy), Serang City at 7.56% (yoy), and Palangka Raya City at 7.33% (yoy).
Other cities with high inflation rates included Kupang City at 7.3% (yoy), Surakarta City at 7.29% (yoy), Pare-Pare City at 7.11% (yoy), Banjarmasin City at 7.07% (yoy), and Cilacap Regency at 7.04% (yoy).
National inflation (overall) reached 5.42% (yoy) in November 2022. Of the 90 cities surveyed by BPS, 63 regencies/cities recorded inflation above the national average. The remaining 27 regencies/cities had inflation rates below the national average.
The transportation expenditure group contributed the most to annual national inflation, while the recreation, sports, and culture expenditure group contributed the least in November 2022. The information, communication, and financial services expenditure group experienced deflation.
