Indonesian Rupiah Exchange Rate Weakens to Rp 15,607 per US Dollar (Wednesday, December 21, 2022)

As of 10:44 WIB this morning, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market was traded at Rp 15,607 per US dollar on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. This exchange rate weakened by 0.03% compared to the previous day's closing, which was traded at Rp 15,602 per US dollar. The daily exchange rate movement is expected to be in the range of 15,592.5 - 15,612.5 per US dollar.

According to investing.com, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has risen by 0.31% in a week. Compared to 30 days ago, however, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has been pressured down by 0.04%.

Nevertheless, for a one-year period, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has actually experienced a decrease (strengthening). In the last year, the previous highest record reached Rp 15,740 per US dollar.

For the period January-December 2022, the exchange rate of the rupiah in the spot market continued to strengthen, moving -0.34% compared to the condition a month ago, which was at Rp 15,660 per US dollar.

The current rupiah exchange rate follows most regional currencies that are weakening against the US dollar.
