Jakarta Food Prices Tuesday (May 7th): Onions Up, Chilies Down

The prices of several food commodities in DKI Jakarta today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Tuesday (7/5/2024) at 13:29 WIB, out of 19 commodities, 7 commodities increased and 4 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price are milkfish, broiler chicken, simple packaged cooking oil, shallot garlic cloves, and chicken eggs.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), red chili peppers, curly red chilies, and premium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Shallot garlic cloves saw the highest price increase, jumping Rp2,620 (5.84%) to Rp47,480 per kg. Curly red chilies saw the lowest price decrease, dropping Rp2,650 (4.79%) to Rp52,630 per kg.
