Food Prices Today in West Sumatra: Chicken Meat Up, Chili Down

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Tuesday (August 5, 2025) at 08.38 WIB, out of 24 commodities, 13 commodities increased and 11 commodities decreased.

Commodities with increased prices include consumption sugar, broiler eggs, Minyakita cooking oil, bulk cooking oil, and mackerel.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as shallots, large red chili, medium rice, garlic bulbs, and dried soybeans (imported) decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Broiler chicken meat experienced the highest increase of Rp3,360 (9.38%) to Rp39,191 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of red bird's eye chili saw the sharpest decrease of Rp45,056 (100.0%) to Rp0 per kg.
