Latest Indonesian Food Prices: Chili Up, Onions Down

The prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today have been observed to increase compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) price panel on Monday (5/8/2024) at 2:56 PM WIB, out of 21 commodities, 17 commodities increased in price and 4 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include farmer-level corn, broiler chicken meat, curly red chilies, milkfish, and simple packaged cooking oil.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as shallots, dry soybean (import), SPHP rice, and pure beef have decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Curly red chilies saw the highest price increase, jumping Rp1,120 (2.61%) to Rp44,110 per kg. Shallots saw the largest price decrease, dropping Rp220 (0.82%) to Rp26,540 per kg.

8. Skipjack Tuna: Rp31,410 per kg (up 2.05%)
9. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp29,030 per kg (up 0.24%)
10. Shallots: Rp26,540 per kg (down 0.82%)
