Food Prices in South Sumatra Today: Onion Prices Up, Red Chili Down

Prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Wednesday (July 30, 2025) at 12:20 PM WIB, out of 23 commodities, 12 commodities increased and 9 decreased.

Commodities with increased prices include skipjack tuna, Minyakita cooking oil, shallots, bulk cooking oil, and unpeeled garlic.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as dried soybeans (imported), packaged wheat flour, large red chili, red bird's eye chili, and mackerel decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Shallots saw the highest jump of Rp614 (1.24%) to Rp50,259 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of large red chili dropped the sharpest by Rp1,710 (4.95%) to Rp32,846 per kg.
