Central Java's Economy Grew 5.31% in 2022, Driven by the Manufacturing Industry

According to data from the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, the economic value of Central Java, based on the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at Constant Prices (ADHK) in 2022, reached Rp1,050 trillion or almost Rp1.1 quadrillion.

GRDP is the sum of the added value of goods and services produced by all business units in a specific region.

The constant price GRDP shows the added value of products based on the 2010 price benchmark as its calculation basis. This constant price GRDP is used to determine economic growth from year to year.

Using this calculation method, in 2022, the Central Java Provincial economy grew by 5.31% compared to the previous year. This growth rate has recovered to pre-pandemic levels, as shown in the graph above.

Based on the business sector, the sector that contributed most to Central Java's economy in 2022 was the manufacturing industry. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the main support came from household consumption.
