Current Food Prices in West Sumatra: Chili Prices Rise, Chicken Prices Fall

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Friday (6/12/2024) at 15.26 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 12 commodities increased and 7 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include iodized fine salt, garlic bulbs, SPHP rice, farmer-level corn, and packaged wheat flour (non-bulk).

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as shallots, Indian mackerel, premium rice, broiler chicken, and granulated sugar decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of milkfish increased the most, by Rp2,040 (6.39%) to Rp33,970 per kg. The price of Indian mackerel decreased the most sharply, by Rp1,800 (3.73%) to Rp46,450 per kg.
