Latest Food Prices in Central Java: Chili Prices Up, Egg Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in Central Java today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Saturday (21/12/2024) at 15.21 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 12 commodities increased in price and 9 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include mackerel, farmer-level corn, medium rice, red chilies, and iodized fine salt.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as simple packaged cooking oil, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), skipjack tuna, granulated sugar, and bulk cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chilies saw the highest price increase, jumping Rp2,910 (7.11%) to Rp43,860 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of chicken eggs fell the most sharply, dropping Rp270 (0.89%) to Rp29,980 per kg.
