Latest Food Prices in West Sumatra: Chicken Prices Rise, Cayenne Pepper Prices Fall

Prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Wednesday (October 1, 2025) at 3:07 PM WIB, out of 24 commodities, 12 commodities increased and 10 commodities decreased.

Commodities with increased prices are mackerel, corn at the farmer level, broiler chicken eggs, packaged cooking oil, and bulk cooking oil.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as pure beef, consumption sugar, medium rice, red cayenne pepper, and curly red chili decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Mackerel prices surged the highest by Rp452 (0.82%) to Rp55,265 per kg. Meanwhile, red cayenne pepper prices fell the deepest by Rp833 (1.62%) to Rp50,667 per kg.
