Today's Food Prices in Central Java: Sugar Up, Salt Down

The prices of several food commodities in Central Java today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Sunday (5/5/2024) at 18.20 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 7 commodities increased and 12 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include premium rice, bulk cooking oil, granulated sugar, bulk wheat flour, and packaged wheat flour (non-bulk).

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as dry soybean (import), red chili peppers, broiler chicken meat, shallots, and mackerel have decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of corn at the farmer level saw the highest increase, jumping Rp410 (7.28%) to Rp6,040 per kg. The price of iodized fine salt saw the lowest decrease, dropping Rp280 (2.36%) to Rp11,560 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 20 food commodities in Central Java according to Bapanas as of May 5, 2024, at 18.20 WIB.

9. Red Chili Peppers: Rp29,310 per kg (down 0.81%)
