The average expenditure of people in Batu Bara Regency to buy water spinach in 2023 was Rp621.87 per capita per week. This figure soared compared to the previous year's expenditure, which was recorded at Rp504 per capita per week.

Average per capita expenditure is the cost incurred for the consumption of all household members for a month, whether from purchases, gifts, or self-production, divided by the number of household members. Household consumption is distinguished between food and non-food consumption, regardless of the origin of the goods, and is limited to household needs only, excluding consumption/expenditure for business purposes or given to others.

Expenditure for food consumption is calculated for a week, while for non-food consumption it is calculated for a month and the previous 12 months.
