Indonesian Rupiah Exchange Rate Weakens to Rp 15,633 per US Dollar (Monday, December 26, 2022)

As of 10:44 WIB this morning, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market was traded at Rp 15,633 per US dollar on Monday, December 26, 2022. This rate weakened by 0.26% compared to the previous day's closing, which was traded at Rp 15,592 per US dollar. Today's trading of the rupiah exchange rate is expected to move in the range of 15597.5 - 15665.

As shown on investing.com, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has been under pressure, weakening by 0.22% in a week. Compared to 30 days ago, however, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has strengthened by 0.49%.

Nevertheless, for the one-year data range, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has actually decreased (strengthened). In the last year, the previous highest record reached Rp 15,740 per US dollar.

For the January-December 2022 period, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market continued to strengthen, moving -0.4% compared to the condition a month ago, which was at Rp 15,695 per US dollar.

The current condition of the rupiah exchange rate is contrary to most regional currencies that are strengthening against the US dollar.

This morning, according to several major currencies monitored by Bank Indonesia, the South Korean won strengthened by 8.45 points (-0.66%) to KRW 1,266.15 per US dollar. Following this, the Japanese yen weakened by 0.02 points (+0.02%), the Singapore dollar strengthened by 0.0016 points (-0.12%), the euro strengthened by 0.0001 points (-0.01%), and the Chinese yuan strengthened by 0.0083 points (-0.12%).
