According to the data claimed by the Red and White Village/District Cooperative Task Force, there are 83,261 legally registered Red and White cooperatives in Indonesia as of February 5, 2026.
The institutional classification of these cooperatives is divided into two parts, namely legally registered village cooperatives with 74,659 units and legally registered district cooperatives with 8,602 units.
According to the provincial distribution, the largest number is in Central Java, with 8,551 units. Of this figure, there are 7,783 legally registered cooperatives in villages and 768 in districts.
Next is East Java, with 8,494 units. This consists of 7,720 village cooperatives and 774 district cooperatives.

- North Sumatra: 6,135 units
- West Java: 5,971 units

- South Sulawesi: 2,301 units
Meanwhile, the provinces with the lowest number of cooperative institutions are in Jakarta, Bangka Belitung Islands, and West Papua.

In all provinces, the legally registered Red and White cooperative institutions are more prevalent in villages than in districts.
