The Ministry of Public Works (PU) has secured a budget of Rp118.50 trillion for the 2026 fiscal year.
Minister of PU, Dody Hanggodo, explained that this budget is the result of an increase from the initial indicative budget of Rp70.86 trillion.
The budget was then supplemented by Rp47.64 trillion, which was approved and finalized through the DIPA issued in December 2025.
"In addition, there was a budget transfer to the RO [output details] of Rp6.85 trillion to meet the funding for priority presidential activities," said Dody at a working meeting with Commission V of the House of Representatives on Wednesday (4/2/2026).
Based on the work unit, the Directorate General of Roads (Ditjen Bina Marga) received the largest allocation of funds, amounting to Rp45.62 trillion in 2026.
This budget is used for the construction of new roads, road improvement and preservation, bridge construction and duplication, suspension bridge construction, and toll road development.
Next, the Directorate General of Water Resources received an allocation of Rp34.74 trillion. This is for the construction and rehabilitation of irrigation networks, flood control, coastal protection, raw water supply, and the construction of groundwater wells and reservoirs.
Then, the Directorate General of Strategic Infrastructure obtained a budget of Rp24.11 trillion, which is used for educational facilities, markets, sports facilities, cultural reserves, health, and other strategic infrastructure.
Finally, the Directorate General of Public Works received an allocation of Rp12.03 trillion for the construction and improvement of the Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM), wastewater and waste management, strategic area development, and community-based infrastructure.
Lastly, supporting units such as SIBB, DJBK, and DJPI received Rp2 trillion for operational, management, and infrastructure financing.
"The Ministry of PU will restart the initial target through budget optimization," said Dody.
