The 2024 French Open badminton tournament was held from March 5-10, 2024, at the Adidas Arena in Paris.
This world-class badminton championship, a BWF Super 750 level event, offered a total prize purse of US$850,000, approximately Rp13.3 billion (assuming an exchange rate of Rp15,650 per US$).
Indonesia sent 13 representatives to the championship. However, seven of them lost in the first round or round of 32, including Indonesian favorites like Jonatan Christie.
Three out of four men's doubles pairs also suffered early exits. They were Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan, Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana, and Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin.
Only one men's doubles pair, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, advanced to the round of 16.
However, as of Thursday (March 7, 2024), six other Indonesian representatives were still competing in the second round. In men's singles, there were Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo. Gregoria Mariska Tunjung represented Indonesia in women's singles.
Remaining in the competition were one women's doubles pair, Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, and one mixed doubles pair, Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja.
