Food Prices in South Sumatra Monday (4/8): Onion Prices Up, Red Chili Prices Down

Prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today were observed to increase compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Monday (August 4, 2025) at 12:17 PM WIB, out of 23 commodities, 14 commodities increased and 8 commodities decreased.

Commodities with increased prices include mackerel, pure beef, medium rice, bulk cooking oil, and skipjack tuna.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as curly red chili, consumption sugar, broiler chicken meat, milkfish, and large red chili decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red onion prices surged the highest by Rp1,037 (2.04%) to Rp51,818 per kg. Meanwhile, large red chili prices dropped the sharpest by Rp1,354 (3.98%) to Rp32,680 per kg.
